הסדנה נוסדה בשנות ה־80 על ידי הגופ אנטרסיאן ומתמחה בעיצוב וייצור כלי קרמיקה ארמנית בהשראת כתבי יד עתיקים ואדריכלות מסורתית. סבו של הגופ היה קדר בירושלים המנדטורית ואולם עבודותיו לא נשמרו. הגופ נמשך אל האמנות מנעוריו ופתח סדנה ששכנה תחילה בתוככי המנזר הארמני, ובה החל ליצור כלים ולוחות אריחים מעוטרים בהשראת כתבי היד הארמנים, התרבות הארמנית וההיסטוריה הארמנית.
Founded by Hagop Antreassian in the 1980s, the studio, once located within the compound of the Armenian Monastery, is known for using ancient Armenian manuscripts and traditional architectural structures as their main source of inspiration. Hagop’s grandfather was a potter in Jerusalem under the British Mandate. And although his grandfather’s works did not survive, they sparked Hagop’s interest in the craft from a young age. Today, the studio produces pottery and ceramics of the highest quality in traditional Armenian styles, maintaining Armenian manuscripts, culture and history as sources of inspiration.
