בשנת 1983 הקימו שלושת האחים לבית סנדרוני את המרכז לאמנות ארמנית בעיר העתיקה שמטרתו הייתה לקדם את המלאכות והאומנות הארמנית. במשך הזמן הם פנו גם לייצור ועיטור כלים ואריחים. בראשית שנות האלפיים יצאו האחים לדרך עצמאית. הרות סנדרוני, מהנדס בהכשרתו, מתמקד בצד הטכני ומנחה צוות ציירות וותיק באיור כלי קרמיקה בהשפעת סגנון איזניק.

In 1983 the three Sandrouni brothers established the Armenian Ceramic Center in the Old City of Jerusalem. The studio aimed to promote traditional Armenian arts and crafts, and with time, the brothers began to produce decorated tiles and tableware. In the early 2000s each brother set out on a new path. Harout Sandrouni, an engineer by training, focuses on the technical aspects of ceramic production and leads a team of experiences artists whose decorations are influenced by the Iznik style.

פסיפס הציפורים המסורתי מופיע על כלי דמוי רימון על רקע שטיח ומסגרות של עלי 'הסאז', סגנון היער הקסום שהיה לדימוי הנפוץ של אמנות איזניק במאה ה-16. בין עלי הסאז בתוך שריגים פרחוניים מקננים זוגות של ציפורים הלקוחים מפסיפס הציפורים. העבודה באה לתאר את המשכיות שלשלת המשפחה והיצירה בין קוטחיה לירושלים.

From Iznik to Jerusalem

The traditional Birds Mosaic appears on a pomegranate-shaped vessel on a background of a carpet and with frames of Sej leaves inside flowery branches. The style of the magic forest was prevalent in Iznik art of the 16^th century. Among the Sej leaves inside the flowery branches nest pairs of birds taken from the Birds Mosaic . The work comes to describe the continuation of the family chain and the design the link between Kütahya and Jerusalem.

فسيفساء العصافير التقليديّ يظهر على هذا البلاط على خلفيّة نماذج النباتات الشائعة في فنّ الخزف المزجّج من إيزنيك من القرن الـ 16.
