רנה פאנויאן היא דור ראשון במשפחתה לאמני קרמיקה. המשפחה הגיעה ליפו לאחר טבח העם ורנה גדלה בשטח המנזר הארמני של יפו. אמה הייתה תופרת ורנה הלכה בעקבותיה ולמדה עיצוב אופנה בתיכון והחלה את דרכה המקצועית בתפירה וברקמה. ביקור בירושלים בסטודיו של ג'ורג' סנדרוני פתח עבורה דלת לעולם חדש ולזהותה הלאומית באמצעות הקרמיקה הארמנית. היא העמיקה בחקר הדגמים הארמניים המסורתיים ומצאה את ייחודה האמנותי בקו המשלב חדש וישן. הסדנה שלה פועלת בבית משפחת בעלה זאבן, בן הקהילה הארמנית בחיפה.
Rena Panoyan is a first-generation ceramic artist. Her family arrived in Jaffa after the Armenian genocide at the beginning of the 20th century, and Rena grew up in the compound of the Armenian Church in Jaffa. Rena's mother was a seamstress and Rena followed in her footsteps, learning fashion design in high school and turning her hand afterwards to sewing and embroidery. A visit to George Sandrouni's studio in Jerusalem opened the door to a new world for her, and through Armenian ceramics, she became further acquainted with her national identity. She deepened her knowledge of traditional Armenian designs and found her unique voice in the development of a new style combining the old with the new. Rena's Armenican Ceramics Studio is located in her husband's family home in Haifa.

הקערה מעוטרת מבפנים ומבחוץ בשריגי גפן שבתוכם, במקום הציפורים מהפסיפס העתיק, משולבות אותיות ארמניות. האותיות הגדולות הן האות הראשונה בשמות הסבים והסבתות והקטנות מייצגות את שמות הילדים והנכדים.

The bowl is decorated both inside and out with vine branches, and within them Armenian letters replace the birds from the ancient mosaic. The large letters are the first letters of the names of the grandparents and the small letters represent the names of the children and grandchildren.

بإذن من الفنّانة
صحن مزيّن من الداخل والخارج بالعنب، وبدل العصافير من فسيفساء العصافير القديم تظهر حروف أرمنيّة: الكبيرة هي الحروف الأولى من أسماء الأجداد والجدّات، والصغيرة – من أسماء الأولاد والأحفاد.
